Wolf Minerals issued Class A Environmental permit for Hemerdon Tungsten Project

• Mining Waste Facility Environmental Permit granted by Environment Agency.

• Award of permit a major milestone for project and a prerequisite to commencing construction.

• Construction scheduled to commence January 2014.

Specialty metals development company, Wolf Minerals Limited (ASX: WLF) (AIM: WLFE) ("Wolf" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has been issued a Category A Mining Waste Facility Environmental Permit for its Hemerdon tungsten and tin project in Devon, in southwest England.

This is a major milestone in the development timeline for the Hemerdon project and is the final major permit required to proceed with development and construction of the project. The Mining Waste Facility Environmental Permit is the first to have been issued in the UK.

Wolf submitted its Mining Waste Facility Environmental Permit application to the UK government's principal environmental body for England and Wales, the Environment Agency ("EA"), in May 2013. The EA conducted a two month public consultation period and received reviews by partner organisations such as Natural England, Devon County Council and others.

As a result of this process the EA had sufficient information to publish a draft permit, which was subject to a one month public consultation period. This has now successfully been completed and the Mining Waste Facility Environmental Permit has been issued.

Together with the purchase of requisite properties around the Hemerdon project site, which was finalised last month (see ASX announcement, 25 November 2013), the Mining Waste Facility Environmental Permit was a pre-requisite to the commencement of construction on the project. Construction is now scheduled to commence in January 2014.

Wolf Minerals Managing Director, Russell Clark, said:

"This is a terrific achievement in the development of the Hemerdon tungsten and tin project as the Mining Waste Facility Environmental Permit is a key pre-requisite for the development of the project. Hemerdon will be the first significant mine to be built in the UK in over 45 years and the agencies have worked tirelessly with us to ensure we will have a waste facility permit that provides protection for the broader environment and community.

Once in operation, the Hemerdon project is expected to deliver over 200 full time jobs to the region for many years to come, providing diversification in employment and new sources of income for many of the local community."
