Board Changes
The Vitec Group plc ("Vitec") the international provider of products and services for the broadcast, photographic, military, aerospace and government (MAG) markets announces the appointment of John Hughes to the Board of the Company as a non-executive director with immediate effect. He will join the Audit, Remuneration and Nominations Committees.
Will Wyatt, non-executive director and Senior Independent Director, will not be seeking re-appointment at the Company's Annual General Meeting to be held on 19 May 2011 and will therefore cease to be a director at the conclusion of that meeting.
Nigel Moore, who is Chairman of the Audit Committee and who has been an independent non-executive director since March 2004, will assume the role of Senior Independent Director upon the close of the 2011 Annual General Meeting.
Commenting on the changes, Michael Harper, Chairman of Vitec said:- "I would like to welcome John to the Board. He brings extensive experience of both listed companies and the MAG sector that will be invaluable in the execution of our strategy. Will has given Vitec long and distinguished service as a non-executive director, including the roles of Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and most recently as Senior Independent Director. On behalf of the Board I would like to thank Will for his wise counsel and judgement."
John Hughes, CBE, BSc, aged 59, is Chairman of Spectris plc, Telecity Group plc and Sepura plc as well as a non-executive director of CSG Systems International, Inc and Nice Systems Limited. John was previously executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Thales SA, the defence, aerospace and electronic systems group. John is an adviser to Advent International, the private equity firm, and also serves as an ambassador to the Alzheimer's Society.
There are no further matters to be disclosed in accordance with paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
