BOARD APPOINTMENT

Cookson Group plc, a leading materials science company, announces that Steve Corbett is to join the Board as an executive Director with effect from 1 May 2012.

Mr Corbett is President and Chief Executive Officer of Cookson's Performance Materials division (previously the Electronics division).

He joined Cookson's Electronics division in 1990 and held various senior management roles within its joining technologies businesses before, in 2002, being appointed President of Enthone, the newly acquired surface chemistries business. He was promoted to his current role in 2004.

Mr Corbett holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Vermont.

There are no further disclosures required in respect of Mr Corbett under paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
