Volex plc ("Volex"), a global provider of power and data cabling solutions, announces that Adrian Chamberlain will join the Board of Volex plc as non-executive director, effective from today. Adrian is a proven director with extensive high level executive experience, including Cable & Wireless plc. He demonstrated substantial business regeneration and growth experience at MessageLabs, which was sold to Symantec Inc. for £400m, and Achilles, one of the world's largest providers of supply-chain management services.

The board has separately been informed by Martin Geh, non-executive director, of his intention to stand down from the Board, due to the impact of additional time commitments required in his role at Google, which prevent him making an effective contribution to the Board. His resignation will be effective from today and he will therefore not stand for re-election at the annual general meeting of Volex plc which will be held on 26 July 2016. 

Bob Beveridge will continue as Senior Independent Director. A process to recruit an additional non-executive director is ongoing and it is expected that a further announcement will be made in due course.

There are no further disclosures pursuant to paragraphs 9.6.13(1) to 9.6.13(6) of the Listing Rules in relation to the appointment of Mr Chamberlain.
