The previousannouncement did not state that "This new contract will be fully effective fromMarch 2007". UNIVERSE GROUP PLC ("Universe" or the "Company") HTEC three year support contract with Chevron Limited Universe Group plc, the AIM listed retail and information systems company,announces that on 30 November 2006, its principle operating company HTEC Limited("HTEC"), secured a comprehensive three year support contract with ChevronLimited ("Chevron") for Chip and PIN maintenance, support and asset management. This new contract will be fully effective from March 2007. The contract covers Chevron's Chip & PIN payment terminal and PIN padinfrastructure to over more than 1000 Texaco-branded retail sites across theUnited Kingdom including Northern Ireland. HTEC is a major provider of payment and loyalty solutions for the PetroleumRetailing industry in Europe. Nearly one third of all UK petrol stations useHTEC payment technology, making it a leader in its own right. Commenting on the support contract, Universe Chairman, Ray Mackie, said; "This is a major win for our HTEC business. With over 1000 sites, Chevron'spayment infrastructure is hugely important to them and we are delighted to betheir chosen service partner.
