AGM Statement

Universe Group plc (UNG.L), a leading developer and supplier of payment and on-line loyalty systems, will be holding its Annual General Meeting later today and Chairman, Robert Goddard, will make the following statement:

"I am pleased to report that trading in the current financial year is in line with the comparable period last year, a period which was significantly bolstered by project work and hardware roll-outs.

The current period has seen further progress in establishing the Group's new products into existing and new customers. The outturn for the financial year will be weighted towards the second half, and remains dependent on securing certain large-scale roll-outs and while we are confident of securing them, their timing is uncertain.

I look forward to providing a further update on the Group's progress in due course."
