Placing of 375,000,000 new shares to raise £750,000

Tri-Star (AIM: TSTR), the AIM listed company which holds licences and permits in respect of the mining and exploitation of mineral rights for antimony at Goynuk, located in the Gediz district of Turkey, is pleased to announce that the Company has conditionally placed a total of 375,000,000 new ordinary shares (the "Placing Shares") in the capital of the Company (the "Ordinary Shares") at a placing price of 0.2 pence per share (the "Placing") to raise £750,000 gross of expenses.

The Placing Shares will rank pari passu with all existing Ordinary Shares in the capital of the Company, and application will be made for the Placing Shares to be admitted to trading on AIM ("Admission"). Admission is expected to commence on 3 September 2010, when the enlarged issued share capital of the Company will total 4,369,047,275 Ordinary Shares (the "Enlarged Share Capital").

Killik & Company, through its nominee TD Waterhouse Corporate Services (Europe) Limited ("TDW") is participating in the Placing by subscribing for 187,500,000 Ordinary Shares and following the Placing, will hold 554,262,160 Ordinary Shares representing 12.69 per cent. of the Enlarged Share Capital. Bowden Group Holdings Limited is participating in the Placing by subscribing for 187,500,000 Ordinary Shares and following the Placing, will hold 187,500,000 Ordinary Shares representing 4.29 per cent. of the Enlarged Share Capital.

The Company intends to use the net proceeds from the Placing to undertake exploration of the Goynuk resource. Following the completion of the Placing, the obligations of EMMEF Investments Limited to make a facility of £750,000 available to the Company until 30 June 2011 under the facility agreement will cease.

Following the Placing, the above figure of 4,369,047,275 Ordinary Shares may be used by shareholders of the Company as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Tri-Star under the Financial Service Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules. The Company does not hold any shares in treasury.
