Trans-Siberian Gold PLC31 March 2006 News Release Trans-Siberian Gold plc Appointment of Chairman and directors LONDON: 31 March 2006 - Trans-Siberian Gold plc ("TSG" or "The Company") (TSG.L)wishes to announce the retirement of Jeremy Marshall as Chairman and as adirector of the Company. Mr Marshall (67), a former chief executive of De La Rue plc, has been chairmanof TSG since 2001 and helped to guide the company through its formative yearsand its debut as a public company on AIM in November 2003. He is retiring inorder to take up his duties as High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire. Peter Burnell (64), a non-executive director of TSG since 2001, has been electedto succeed Mr Marshall. Mr Burnell has wide experience in the mining industryand has previously held several senior executive positions with the AngloAmerican/Minorco group of companies. Mr Burnell said today: "The directors of TSG have been very fortunate to havethe wise counsel of Jeremy Marshall whose wide international business experiencehas been a source of great strength to the company. We greatly regret hisdecision to retire but fully recognise his wish to do so at this time and wishhim well in his new role. He will be greatly missed." Following the recent acquisition of 25% of the Company by UFG Private EquityFund, TSG is also pleased to announce the appointment of two senior Russianbased businessmen to the Board of the Company as non-executive directors. Dr Boris G. Fedorov, aged 47, is a prominent Russian politician, and is HonoraryChairman of United Financial Group as well as a member of the Board of Directorsof Gazprom and the Supervisory Board of Sberbank. Dr Fedorov served as Chairmanof UFG from 1994 to 1998. In 1998 he was appointed head of the State Tax Serviceand later Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and was previouslyMinister of Finance. Dr Fedorov became Executive Director of the InternationalBank for Reconstruction and Development in Washington in 1992, after working atthe European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. Dr Fedorov hasalso worked for the State Bank of the USSR and the Institute of World Economicsand International Relations of the Academy of Science. Florian Fenner, CFA, aged 35, a German national, joined UFG Asset Management asManaging Partner in July 2002. Mr Fenner is an investment manager with over nineyears experience in Russia. Prior to joining UFG, he was head of therepresentative office of Unifund with responsibility for a Russia portfolioexceeding several hundred million US dollars. He served as Deputy Head ofResearch at Brunswick Brokerage, one of Russia's leading investment banks, in1996 before joining Brunswick Capital Management in 1997. He managed andco-managed several funds and managed accounts as an IMRO registered fundmanager. Before coming to Russia, he worked for Schroder Munchmeyer Hengst Co, aGerman investment bank. Mr. Fenner is a Chartered Financial Analyst, based inMoscow and speaks fluent Russian. Mr Burnell said: "We greatly welcome the appointment of Mr Fedorov and Mr Fennerto the TSG board.
