Torex Retail PLC10 May 2005 10 May 2005 Torex Retail plc Announces major LUCAS contract win Torex Retail, a leading provider of IT solutions to major European retailers,announces that it has won a €3.5 million order with German shoe retailerHeinrich Deichmann-Schuhe GmbH ("Deichmann") to implement its open platformJAVA-based Lucas EPoS solution into 1,600 stores across Europe. Lucas has already been rolled out to 14 UK stores, by the UK team, followingsuccessful implementation in Austria, as the first part of a pan-Europeanroll-out. Stores in Belgium, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Denmark andSwitzerland are to be upgraded to Lucas over the next year. Deichmann will also implement the Lucas Mix&Match discounting and promotionmodule to provide flexible, centralised control and management of promotions. Anew movement of goods and inventory management module integrated with mobiledevices will handle goods received. Additionally, Lucas has been equipped withan Open Payment Initiative (OPI) interface to simplify the connection ofElectronic Funds Transfer (EFT) devices in the different countries.
