Torex Retail PLC18 January 2007 18 January 2007 HOME RETAIL GROUP RENEWS CONTRACT WITH TOREX RETAIL High street retail giant Home Retail Group has recently signed a long term multimillion pound deal with leading retail technology solutions provider TorexRetail to provide software and services across the Argos and Homebase estates. The contract will include the provision of in store solutions and consultancyfor the Argos and Homebase stores as well as the ability to deploy the TorexRetail-J EPoS (electronic point of sale) software into current and future routesto market. The contract was awarded following a competitive tender for software amongstother retail solutions providers and Home Retail Group selected Torex Retailbased on their depth of knowledge and experience in the industry and the successof an existing 26 year relationship with Home Retail Group. The Argos estate has considerable point of sale devices installed in more than650 stores and will see the deployment of Retail-J during 2007. The majorelements of the in store solutions will be deployed over the next four years. Aten year maintenance contract will also be provided as part of the arrangementbetween Home Retail Group and Torex Retail. The Retail-J solution was selected based on its ability to best fit with HomeRetail Group's business processes and technical model. With a considerablenumber of stores across the Argos and Homebase estates it was essential thatthey chose to work with an organisation that could meet their exactingrequirements. The Torex Retail approach of driving the business from head officedown to store level closely matched the processes of the Argos business. The contract is a result of a collaboration between the two companies to provideHome Retail Group with the most suitable and best performing EPoS system andinnovative retail software which will meet the organisation's current and futurerequirements.
