Topps Tiles PLC14 December 2005 TOPPS TILES PLC (the "Company) NOTIFICATION OF SUBSTANTIAL SHAREHOLDING The Company received notification on 14 December 2005 from FidelityInternational Limited ("FIL") that as at 12 December 2005 FIL and its direct andindirect subsidiaries had a non-beneficial interest in 12,568,209 ordinaryshares of 2.5p each ("Ordinary Shares"), equivalent to 5.54 per cent. of theCompany's then issued share capital. The interest was registered as follows: Brown Bros Harriman and Co 182,100Bank of New York Brussels 109,000Brown Bros Harrimn Ltd Lux 3,913,400State Str BK and TR Co Lndn 495,300JP Morgan, Bournemouth 4,624,009Bank of New York Brussels 610,600Bank of New York Europe Ldn 90,400Citibank London 571,000Clydesdale bank plc 32,300JP Morgan, Bournemouth 1,141,300Mellon Bank 68,600Northern Trust London 730,200 The Company also received notification on 14 October 2005 from FMR Corp ("FMR")that as at 12 December 2005 FMR and its direct and indirect subsidiaries had anon-beneficial interest in 5,650,000 Ordinary Shares, equivalent to 2.49 percent. of the Company's then issued share capital. The interest was registered asfollows: Brown Bros Harriman and Co 4,050,000State Street Bank and Tr Co 1,600,000 The notifications by FIL and FMR Corp also comprise a notifiable interest of MrEdward C Johnson 3rd, a principal shareholder of both FIL and FMR Corp.
