Lucyd Pte Ltd. Appoints Dr Ira A. Clement as Science Advisor and
Files New Patent Application
Tekcapital plc (AIM: TEK), the UK intellectual property (IP) investment group focused on creating marketplace value from university technology, is pleased to announce that Lucyd Pte Ltd ("Lucyd") has appointed Dr Ira A. Clement, a licensed optometrist, as a science advisor and that it has filed a new patent application.
New appointment
Dr. Clement has over 40 years of experience in the practice of optometry. He has served as Past-President of the Westchester-Rockland-Putnam Optometric Society. As part of his pro bono activities, Dr Clement served as Past-President of the Suffern LIONS Club. Since its founding in 1917, Lions Clubs International® has worked on projects designed to prevent blindness, restore eyesight and improve eye health and eye care for hundreds of millions of people worldwide.
New Patent Application
On 2 July 2018, Lucyd announced the filing of a patent application No. 16/022,097 to improve the utility of Augmented Reality ("AR") glasses. The application is directed to smartglasses, with prescription lenses, and methods to control the presentation and display of information related to mobile device tasks that can be performed with these smartglasses.
Lucyd is delighted that Dr. Clement has joined the company's science advisory board. As a highly experienced optometrist, they believe their customers can benefit from his knowledgeable answers to questions regarding eye health. Additionally, Lucyd believes the new patent application may significantly enhance the ergonomics of AR glasses while maintaining a transparent interface.
