Cairo, August 17, 2010: Telecom Egypt (TE) (Ticker: ETEL.CA; TEEG.LN), notes the recent press article published by Al Mal on 06 August 2010 regarding comments made in relation to Telecom Egypt's capital expenditure programme for the next three years.

Telecom Egypt would like to clarify that the investment of EGP 6 to 8 billion over the coming three years relates directly to Telecom Egypt's ongoing capex programme investing in its infrastructure to service growing telecommunications and broadband demand in the Egyptian market. This comprises a capex commitment of EGP 1.5 to 2 billion per year, with the flexibility for an additional EGP 2 billion to be made available should market dynamics provide further opportunities.
