Result of the External Audit Tender
Tate & Lyle PLC (the ‘Company’) today announces a proposal to appoint Ernst & Young LLP (‘EY’) as its external auditor for the financial year ending 31 March 2019.
As disclosed in the Company's Annual Report, and in accordance with UK market practice, the Audit Committee commenced a tender process earlier this year. The proposed change of auditor follows a recommendation by the Audit Committee to the Board based on a formal tender in line with best practice. Further information on the tender process will be provided in the Audit Committee Report to be included in the Company's Annual Report for the financial year ending 31 March 2018.
A resolution to approve the appointment of EY will be put to shareholders at the Company's AGM in July 2018.
A resolution to re-appoint the Company's current auditor, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (‘PwC’), for the financial year ending 31 March 2018 was approved by shareholders at the Company's AGM on 27 July 2017.
PwC, or its predecessor firms, has been the auditor of the Company since 1989 and the Board would like to thank PwC for its years of diligent service to the Company.
