Talvivaara Mining Company Ltd02 April 2008 Talvivaara Mining Company Talvivaara pleased to announce first blast ceremony held on 1 April 2 April 2008 Talvivaara Mining Company Plc is pleased to announce that yesterday it had itsfirst blast of ore at a small ceremony at the mine site in Sotkamo, Finland. Thefirst blast marked the beginning of the extraction of ore at the Talvivaaramine. The start of mining was one of the most important milestones in the mineproject, and it was achieved on timetable and on budget. The next key milestonesare the start of stacking and leaching of the ore in July and start of metalsproduction during the fourth quarter of 2008.
