Star Energy Group PLC26 October 2005 Star Energy Group plc("Star Energy" or the "Group") Appointment of Roger Pearson as Operations Director Update on Humbly Grove Gas Storage Facility Star Energy Group plc, the UK based energy company with a developing gas storagebusiness, announces the appointment of Roger Pearson (55) as a new executivedirector, effective from 21st October 2005. He will join the board as theGroup's Operations Director. Roger joined Star Energy in May 2000 to run the company's Weald Basin operationsand was promoted to Chief Operating Officer for the Group in September 2004.Roger has had primary responsibility for the engineering and construction of theGroup's gas storage projects, including the soon to be operational 10 bcf HumblyGrove gas store. Humbly Grove Update The Humbly Grove gas storage facility is undergoing final system checks and itis anticipated that storage injection operations will commence on November 4th2005. Stephen Gutteridge, Chairman of Star Energy said: "I am delighted to welcome Roger to the Board. He has been integrally involvedin the development of the company's business, and in particular, has played akey role in managing the construction, in just over 18 months, of the company'sfirst gas storage facility at Humbly Grove, which will be operational next week."
