Contract Extension

SCISYS PLC ('SCISYS' or the 'Company'; AIM: SSY) - the supplier of bespoke software systems, IT based solutions and support services to the Media Broadcast, Space and Government and Defence sectors - is pleased to announce that it has received a contract extension from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

SCISYS was originally contracted to supply the System and Information Management (SIMS) system for the first 11 vessels in their latest class of lifeboat, the Shannon. This extension, worth in excess of £1M, adds a further 12 boats to the original contract, to be supplied over two years, starting in Q4 2014.

SIMS allows RNLI volunteer crew members to monitor and operate the lifeboat's navigation, communication, machinery and systems from the safety of their seats. The RNLI plans to add in excess of 50 Shannons to the charity's lifeboat fleet - so far five Shannon all-weather lifeboats have been built, with two already in active service at RNLI stations in Dungeness and Exmouth.
