Trading update and Board Appointments
SciSys plc, AIM stock code: SSY, ('SciSys' or the 'Company') - the supplier of bespoke software systems, IT based solutions and support services to the media broadcast, space, defence, public and transport sectors is today announcing a number of plc and Executive Board Appointments and providing a trading update for the period ending 31 December 2009.
The Company has announced today that David Jones is to be promoted to the newly created position of Chief Operations Officer, taking responsibility at Board level for all operational and sales activities across the plc Group.
The membership of the plc Board remains unchanged and Executive Chairman, Mike Love, retains overall responsibility for the operational performance of the Group. However as of 1/1/10 the Directors of all Operational Divisions will report directly to David Jones as COO.
This appointment reflects the recent growth and growing success of SciSys and the need to ensure that the Board keeps close involvement in the operational management of the business going forward.
Consequent on David's promotion, the Company has announced two further appointments to the SciSys Executive Board and a change to the structure of the Government Division. The Government Division will be split into two new Divisions: the Environment Division and the Government & Defence Division.
Dave Gawthorpe takes over responsibility for the Government and Defence (G&D) Division and Heather Dinham will be responsible for the Environment Division.
A substantial number of recently announced major contract wins with the BBC, the RNLI, the Coal Authority, the European Space Agency and others has given the Group a very positive order book for 2010.
The Board is pleased to announce that it now anticipates that results for 2009 will be ahead of market expectations and that the Group is entering 2010 on a very positive footing.
