Sound Oil PLC31 August 2006 Sound Oil plc("Sound Oil" or the "Company") 31 August 2006 Kerendan POD approval Sound Oil announces that Elnusa Bangkanai Energy Ltd ("EBE") the operator of theBangkanai Production Sharing Contract has received approval from BP MIGAS (theIndonesian government agency responsible for the supervision and control ofupstream oil and natural gas business activities) for its plan of development("POD") of the Kerendan area gas reserves, in Kalimantan. Following its recentacquisition of Mitra Energia Limited, Sound Oil has an effective workinginterest of 34% in the Bangkanai production sharing contract covering theKerendan gas field.
