Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Declares Year-End Cash Dividend for FY2017

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KS005930, KS005935, SMSN, SMSD) ("Samsung") today announced that its Board of Directors at their meeting on January 31, 2018 authorized a cash dividend plan, payable to the shareholders of record at the close of business on December 31, 2017, as follows:
1. Dividend Per Share (Dividend Yield)
- Common Shares: KRW 21,500 (0.9%)
- Preferred Shares: KRW 21,550 (1.1%)
* Based on KRX guidelines, dividend yield is calculated by dividing dividend per share by the average stock price for the week prior to two days before the record date.
2. Total Amount Appropriated for Year-End Cash Dividend: KRW 2,929.53 billion
3. Record Date: December 31, 2017
* Dividend payments will only be made to shareholders of record on the shareholders' registry at the close of business on the record date.
* Dividend payments will be made within 30 days of the date of the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders ("AGM") and are subject to approval and ratification by a vote of the shareholders at the AGM.
