Results of Share Repurchase Program

Pursuant to the board's authorization of the second phase of its share repurchase program on April 27, 2017, Samsung Electronics recently completed the repurchase of its shares. Detailed results of the second phase of the repurchase program are set forth below:

1. Repurchase Period: April 28, 2017 to July 20, 2017

2. Repurchased Common Shares:

- Number of Shares: 900,000

- Average Price Per Share: KRW 2,343,364

- Total Amount: KRW 2,109 billion

3. Repurchased Preferred Shares:

- Number of Shares: 225,000

- Average Price Per Share: KRW 1,844,831

- Total Amount: KRW 415 billion

* The shares repurchased during this period are subject to cancellation.

* We announced last January in the 2016 fourth quarter earnings release our plan to carry out a shares repurchase program of 9.3 trillion won in 2017, and we have completed the second phase of the program as of July.
