African Mining & Exploration plc, (AME), the AIM listed mining company with exploration licences in Mali, West Africa, announces that Martyn Churchouse (Technical Director) has chosen not to stand for re-election to the Board at the Company's AGM to be held on 17 June 2011, and therefore he has resigned with immediate effect. Conflicting commitments will prevent him from properly fulfilling his duties and providing the level of attention required by the Company as it moves towards more intensive Phase 2 exploration of its licences in Mali.
The Company is well served by a strong technical team of experienced geologists in-country, and this team will expand as AME grows. A process to appoint a full time Head of Exploration is also ongoing and an announcement will be made in due course.
