Rentokil Initial to appoint Jeremy Townsend as Chief Financial Officer

Rentokil Initial plc (FTSE: RTO) today announces that Jeremy Townsend will be appointed to the Board as a Director and Chief Financial Officer on leaving his current role.

Jeremy Townsend, 46, is currently Finance Director at Mitchells & Butlers, a role he has held since February 2008. Jeremy joined Mitchells & Butlers in June 2005 as Deputy Finance Director. He was previously employed by J Sainsbury plc where he held various finance roles including Group Financial Controller, Corporate Finance Director and Strategy Director. Prior to Sainsbury's, he was employed by Ernst & Young, working in audit and corporate finance. Jeremy is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.

The date on which he will join the Board will be announced in due course.

Rentokil Initial's current CFO, Michael Murray, indicated some time ago that he would be minded to seek a new challenge outside Rentokil Initial if a suitable replacement could be identified. Mr Murray will leave the Board on 31 March 2010.

There is nothing that is required to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13 in respect of Jeremy Townsend.
