Uranium Exploration Results and UpdateĀ
Positive resultsĀ atĀ North WashĀ where 18 explorationĀ drillĀ holes intersect uranium mineralization
DrillingĀ at North Wash indicatesĀ mineralization of GT* 0.20 or higher at a cut-off grade of 0.05% eU3O8Ā extendsĀ throughĀ an area 750 feet (304m) by 3000 feet (914m)Ā (infill drilling required)Ā
Second round drilling commences at Happy Jack project,Ā Utah
DrillingĀ alsoĀ initiated as part of theĀ Ā VANE-Uranium One JV, northern ArizonaĀ Breccia Pipe District

VANE Minerals Plc today announces exploration drilling results and progress on its uranium projects located inĀ UtahĀ andĀ Arizona. The projects are held by the Company's wholly-owned subsidiary, VANE Minerals (US) LLC.
NORTH WASH,Ā UTAH
AĀ drillingĀ program,Ā primarilyĀ designed to explore the 1,000-foot-wide (304m) untested area between the main body of mineralization and widely-spaced mineralized holes to the southwest,Ā hasĀ returned positive results.Ā Uranium mineralization was encountered in drill holes on each of the drill fences spaced 300 feet apart.Ā The hole spacing is 100 to 200 feet on the fences.Ā Fifteen (15)Ā of the twenty-six (26)Ā holesĀ drilledĀ cut mineralization.Ā Three of the 15 holes reached resource status ofĀ aĀ GT (grade-thickness)Ā ofĀ 0.20 atĀ aĀ cut-off grade of 0.05% eU3O8.Ā Ā In particular, hole 08-14 with 9.5 feet (2.9m) grading 0.36% eU3O8,Ā was the best holeĀ drilledĀ to date on the property.
In addition, three holes were drilled in the northeast part of the main body of mineralization, two of which were offset holesĀ located 100 feetĀ north of previous drilling. All holes cut uranium mineralization with oneĀ of the northernĀ holes, 08-28,Ā intersecting 5.0 feet grading 0.07% eU3O8.
The new drilling indicates an area measuring 750 feet (304m) by 3,000 feet (914m) encompassing resource-grade holes whichĀ isĀ approximately twiceĀ the size of the previously known mineralized area. Additional infill drilling is required to better defineĀ the distribution ofĀ resource-grade mineralization in the newly defined area.Ā Ā The mineralized trend remains open.Ā
TheĀ North WashĀ projectĀ was originally drilled by Cotter Corporation in the late 1970's. This historic drilling definedĀ approximately 150,000Ā pounds ofĀ U3O8Ā (non-43-101 compliant) with associated vanadiumĀ before drilling was terminated due to the weak uranium market. A uraniumĀ toĀ vanadium ratioĀ estimated atĀ 1:5,Ā based on VANE core,Ā indicates thatĀ 750,000 pounds ofĀ vanadium oxide (V2O5)Ā may be present with the 150,000 pound indicated uranium resource, as announced on 15thĀ January 2007. Vanadium wasĀ observedĀ in eachĀ of theĀ mineralized holesĀ drilledĀ in the current campaign. Future exploration will incorporate procedures to further assess the vanadiumĀ content.
VANE geologists continue to believe the North Wash project holds the potential for up to 1 million pounds ofĀ U3O8Ā and 5 million pounds ofĀ V2O5Ā (using bottom end historic indicated grades ofĀ V2O5).
TheĀ radiometric logĀ resultsĀ from Century Geophysical CorporationĀ areĀ listedĀ in the tableĀ below:Ā

Commenting today Steve Van Nort, CEO of VANE Minerals, said:Ā
"We are encouraged by the results fromĀ NorthĀ WashĀ and look forward to pushing ahead withĀ further explorationĀ of our uranium portfolio. Drilling has commenced at our Uranium One joint venture and second round drilling is underway at Happy Jack.Ā Ā I look forward to being able to release further resultsĀ when available. VANE's exploration programs are well funded and I believe our ability to press ahead with work in the current economic environment leaves us well positioned to take advantage of a continued, global, uranium supply shortfall."Ā
