Jane Lighting, Senior Independent Director, non-executive director and member of the Audit and Risk, Remuneration and Nomination Committees, has informed the Company of her intention to step down from the Board on 27 December 2015. Jane joined the Board in 2008, becoming Senior Independent Director in 2014.
Helen Stevenson, who joined the Board as an independent non-executive director in 2014, will succeed Jane as the Senior Independent Director with effect from 28 December 2015. Helen will continue to act as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and as member of the Audit and Risk and Nomination Committees.
Commenting on the changes, David Grigson, Chairman, said:
"I would like to extend my thanks to Jane, who has provided invaluable support and assistance to the Board over the past eight years, and particularly for her counsel as Senior Independent Director. On behalf of the board, I wish Jane well for the future. I am confident that Helen will make an excellent successor for Jane as Senior Independent Director."
