PureCircle Limited07 May 2008 PureCircle Limited ('PureCircle' or 'the Group') Proposed Director Appointment Subject to shareholder approval at the annual general meeting to be held on 2June 2008 it is intended that Peter Lai Hock Meng be appointed as anon-executive director of PureCircle Limited ("PureCircle"). Peter Lai Hock Meng, aged 52 is a Singaporean national and holds a BA (Honours)degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge, England. He is also aFellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK and a CFA charter holder fromthe CFA Institute, USA. He has more than 20 years experience in financialindustry including central banking, investment banking, private banking,stockbroking and venture capital. Presently, Peter holds the position of Managing Director, Tembusu Partners PteLtd, a private equity investment firm in Singapore. Peter started his career in the Monetary Authority of Singapore as an investmentofficer in 1980. His key appointments in the past 20 years include the followinginstitutions - Managing Director (Singapore) of Deutsche Morgan Grenfell &Partners Securities; Managing Director (Asia Pacific) of SocGen-CrosbySecurities; Director and Senior Private Banker (Singapore & Indonesia) ofCitigroup Private Bank and Regional Market Manager (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan andThailand) of OCBC Private Bank. Peter Lai also taught as Adjunct Associate Professor in the National Universityof Singapore Graduate Business School in 1999-2000, specializing in investmentsand capital markets. He was also appointed as Executive-in-Residence at the SawCentre for Financial Studies in the National University of Singapore BusinessSchool in 2006. During that period, Peter published his first book - "GoodPractices for Managing Charity Fund". Peter Lai is also active in professional, corporate governance and communityactivities.
