TSE secures World Games contract
The Board of TSE is pleased to announce that it's wholly owned subsidiary, TSE Consulting SA, the international sports management consultancy, has signed a two year agreement with the International World Games Association ("IWGA") to assist them in increasing the attractiveness of the World Games for potential host cities.
The World Games is a major multi-sport event with over 3,000 athletes competing and which takes place every four years for non-Olympic sports. It is hosted by the IWGA together with its 32 International Sports Federation Members, all of whom are recognised by the International Olympic Committee.
Working in cooperation with TSE Consulting, the IWGA wants to ensure that the Games are flexible and able to fit into the long term planning and sports strategies of cities around the world. The first year of the agreement will focus on intense research and planning prior to the launch of the 2017 World Games bidding process in October 2009.
IWGA President, Ron Froehlich, said "The World Games are an important and exciting event in the international sporting calendar. We are committed to ensuring that all aspects of promoting and organising the Games are continually improved and developed. The Games are a magnificent showcase of sporting achievement and we are happy to be working with TSE to ensure that we have an event that works to the benefit of our host cities."
Commenting on this new long term contract Lars Haue-Pedersen, Managing Director of TSE Consulting, said "This is an exciting project for us. With our great understanding of the needs and objectives of both the sports governing bodies and the potential host cities, TSE is working to create the perfect match between the two. We see the great potential in the World Games and are happy to be on board."
The next edition of the World Games will be held in Chinese Taipei in 2009 and the 2013 edition will be hosted by Germany. The IWGA project will be managed out of TSE Consulting's Lausanne office and commences immediately.
