Porvair PLC08 February 2007 For immediate release 8 February 2007 Porvair plc ("Porvair") Porvair wins filter contract for Airbus fuel tank inerting Porvair today announces that it has signed a supply agreement expected to beworth $3m over seven years with Parker Hannifin Corporation, a world leader inmotion and control systems and components for aerospace and industrialapplications. Porvair will supply the aerospace filtration systems for Parker'sonboard aircraft fuel tank inerting system, which will be fitted to new Airbuspassenger jets. Supply of these filtration systems to Parker is expected tocommence in 2008 and is in addition to the previously announced agreement withParker for similar systems for Boeing production aircraft. Porvair was selectedby Parker for its extensive experience with aerospace filtration applications. The elimination of flammable fuel vapours in commercial aircraft fuel tanks isone of the US National Transportation Safety Board's top priorities. Parker'slightweight, onboard aircraft fuel tank inerting system addresses this issue andcan be easily fitted within existing aircraft designs. The system removes oxygenfrom its source of engine bleed air, delivering nitrogen-enriched air into theaircraft fuel tanks. The nitrogen-enriched air greatly reduces the risk of fueltank flammability. The Porvair filtration system ensures that the source ofengine bleed air delivered into the inerting system is free from particulate andany liquid droplets.
