The purpose of this notice is to ensure member firms are aware of the circular issued today by LCH.Clearnet ("the LCH Circular") in relation to the settlement arrangements for the Scheme of Arrangement in Allied Domecq plc. This Scheme of Arrangement is due to become effective on 26 July 2005. 2. The LCH Circular, which applies only to order book transactions, is attached to this Notice for ease of reference. Settlement 3. The LCH Circular notes that "the New Pernod Ricard shares issued pursuant to the offer will be represented by book entries in equity securities accounts and shareholders will be presented with 'Statements of Entitlements'". Taking into account the likely number of open transactions in Allied Domecq plc together with the number of participants involved in the Scheme of Arrangement, LCH.Clearnet has stated that all new Pernod Ricard settlement obligations created as a result of open transactions in Allied Domecq plc will be settled in CDI format and not as residual transactions. 4.
