Mercury Group PLC17 May 2006 Mercury Group plc ("Mercury" or "the Group") Board Changes The Board of Mercury, the integrated property services group, is delighted toannounce the appointment of Walter Kenneth Goldsmith as Non-executive Chairman,which takes immediate effect. Walter takes up the post from David Williams whohas decided to step down from the Board and his role as Chairman to pursue otheropportunities. The Directors would like to thank David for his significantcontribution to the Group. Walter Goldsmith, aged 68, a qualified chartered accountant, has substantialBoard level experience in a number of public and private companies. Aconsiderable part of his career was spent at Black & Decker, the globalmanufacturer and marketer of power tools, where he was latterly Corporate VicePresident and responsible for launching Black & Decker companies in 22countries. He was subsequently Group Planning and Marketing Director at Forteplc, the hotel group, and Director General of the Institute of Directors forfive years. Walter is currently deputy chairman of Asite plc (formerly Premisys Group Plc) and his other directorships include Bank Leumi (UK) plc, NRC Group Plc and Visonic Ltd.
