Appointment of Independent Non-Executive Director

McBride plc, Europe's leading supplier of private label household and personal care products, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sandra Turner as a Non-Executive Director with effect from1 August 2011.

Sandra will also serve as a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nominationsub-committees of the Board.

Sandra has strong blue chip consumer goods credentials. She was part of the Senior Management team that made Tesco the outstanding retail success story of the last two decades, holding senior commercial and operational roles in the UK and Ireland. She spent a total of 21 years at Tesco and from 2003 to 2009 she was the Commercial Director of Tesco Ireland, the number one grocery retailer in the Republic.

Sandra currently holds non-executive director positions at Carpetright plc as well as at the consumer and speciality packaging company, Huhtamäki Oyj, and was previously a non-executive director of Northern Foods plc.
