Directorate change
Mitchells & Butlers plc announces that Stewart Gilliland, who joined the Board as a non-executive director in May 2013 and was appointed as senior independent director in February 2015 has informed the Board of his intention to step down from the Board in order to concentrate on his other roles as chairman of C&C Group plc and as a non-executive director of Tesco plc.
The Board has already commenced a process of identification and recruitment of a replacement for Mr Gilliland following which it will confirm the date for Mr Gilliland to step down and make an appropriate announcement. This is likely to be by the end of December 2018.
Bob Ivell, non-executive chairman of Mitchells & Butlers plc, said "Stewart has played a key role in the continued successful development of Mitchells & Butlers and has been a very valuable, supportive and extremely helpful member of our Board. We wish him every success in his other Board roles".
