Appointment of Non-executive Director 

Low & Bonar PLC (the "Group"), the international performance materials group, is pleased to announce the appointment of John Sheldrick as a non-executive director with effect from 1 October 2011. Mr. Sheldrick will chair the Group's Audit Committee.

Mr. Sheldrick was Group Finance Director of Johnson Matthey plc from 1995 to 2009. Prior to joining Johnson Matthey in 1990, he was Group Treasurer of The BOC Group plc. He is also a non-executive director of GKN plc and Fenner plc and a former non-executive director of API Group plc.
