Kcell launches pilot LTE zones
Almaty, 29 February 2016 - Kcell Joint Stock Company ("Kcell" or the "Company") (LSE, KASE: KCEL), the leading provider of mobile telecommunications services in Kazakhstan by market share in terms of revenue and subscribers, has launched pilot LTE standard (4G) mobile zones across Kazakhstan in the cities of Astana, Almaty, Shymkent and Aktobe.
The LTE pilot zones are located within key shopping malls in each of the four cities. This will allow Kcell subscribers to access 4G services and seek advice on the new technology at Kcell's branded stores located within the shopping malls.
Kcell plans to open LTE pilot zones in more than 40 shopping malls, business centers and popular fitness centers in 12 cities across Kazakhstan by the end of March.
Arti Ots, CEO of Kcell, said:
"We are delighted to be launching these LTE pilot zones, giving our customers an opportunity to sample the new 4G technology and its capabilities.
"We have situated our test areas in shopping malls that have become hubs of recreation, shopping and entertainment in each city. As a result, we will be able to gather meaningful feedback on our 4G mobile internet services, to ensure that the full launch of LTE across our network meets the highest standards of quality."
