Board Appointment 

Johnston Press plc, one of the UK's leading regional media groups, is pleased to announce that Camilla Rhodes will become a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 13 July 2009.

Camilla is a very experienced media executive who has held a number of senior positions during a 28 year career at News International ("News"), the UK's largest newspaper publishing company and a subsidiary of News Corporation Inc. 

Among her senior roles at News, she was Managing Director of Times Newspapers, publisher of The Times and The Sunday Times, from 1997 to 2001, before becoming Managing Director of News Group Newspapers, publisher of the Sun and the News of the World, from 2001 to 2005. In 2005, she set up News Magazines, a standalone magazine publishing division. Camilla left News in late 2008 to pursue other business opportunities in media and online.

Camilla has also held several board positions on news industry bodies, including the Advertising Standards Authority, the National Readership Survey, the Newspaper Publishers Association and the Newspaper Marketing Association Council. She is a graduate in economics from University College London.
