IG GROUP HOLDINGS PLC Update on revised customer metrics

 

As announced with our full year results on 24 July 2025, from Q1 FY26 IG Group is revising its definitions of active customers and first trades and introducing funded customers as a new key performance indicator. Refreshed disclosure aligns definitions across the Group and better reflects IG's more diversified revenue and progress delivering our growth strategy. From Q1 FY26, active customers, first trades and funded customers will be disclosed every reporting period to allow for better identification of underlying trends.

 

Revised definitions are as follows:

Active customers: Customers who opened or closed a position during a month or held a position at month end, with all customers mapped to relevant product categories1. IG will disclose average monthly active customers by product for each reporting period2.First trades: New customers placing their first trade in the relevant reporting period.Funded customers: Customers with a cash balance or holding assets at month end.

 

The Group has today released figures for prior quarters based on the revised definitions, with trading revenue reallocated across product categories accordingly. There is no impact on Group trading revenue or total revenue. A file with historical disclosure is available for download from our website:

As previously announced, IG will issue a Q1 FY26 trading update on 25 September.

1.  OTC derivatives, exchange traded derivatives, stock trading & investments and spot crypto

2.  For example, the Q1 FY26 count will represent the average of monthly active customers in June, July and August
