Qatar Invests in Hydro Vortex Drop™ Shaft Technology
Hydro International plc (AIM: HYD), a leading provider of environmentally sustainable and innovative solutions to water management challenges the world over, is pleased to announce that it has been selected to provide stormwater management products as part of the major Doha Industrial Area Development project in Qatar. The contract is worth approximately £2m.
The overall project itself will see the development of 480 hectares that will accommodate 580 industrial units. It will include the rehabilitation and upgrade of more than 38km of road network with 19 road intersections along with the construction of an extensive micro tunnel network to house the new drainage and sewerage systems. It is anticipated that the Industrial Area will be completed by mid-2016.
Hydro's Vortex Drop™ Shaft technology was selected as a highly robust and proven technology that provides simple installation, design flexibility and an effective mechanism to safely drop a wide range of stormwater flows.
