UK COALΒ PLC
New Coal Contract
UK COALΒ PLCΒ ("UK COAL") todayΒ announcesΒ thatΒ itΒ has signed a new contract with an electricity generatorΒ customer to supply coal on improved and extended commercial terms, which will haveΒ aΒ positiveΒ financialΒ effectΒ for UK COALΒ asΒ fromΒ 1stΒ January 2009. In addition,Β discussions onΒ similarΒ new contractsΒ are taking place with other generators. Given the commercially sensitive nature of the ongoing negotiations, no further details of the newΒ contractual arrangementsΒ announcedΒ today will be givenΒ at this time.
AnΒ overallΒ updateΒ onΒ UK COAL'sΒ supplyΒ contractsΒ will be given at the time of the preliminary results announcementΒ scheduled forΒ 27thΒ April 2009.
