APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Mondi Limited and Mondi plc are pleased to announce the appointment of John Nicholas as a non-executive director with effect from 2 October 2009.

John Nicholas is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He is currently a non-executive director of Ceres Power Holdings plc, Rotork p.l.c. and Hunting PLC and a member of the UK Financial Reporting Review Panel. He was formerly the Group Finance Director at Tate & Lyle plc and prior to that was Group Finance Director at Kidde plc.

With immediate effect he will be appointed as chairman of the DLC Audit Committee and a member of the DLC Nominations Committee.

`The Mondi Group boards are delighted that John will be joining us. He brings a strong financial background and wealth of commercial business experience to the Mondi Group. His knowledge of long cycle industries and of doing business in emerging markets will be of particular benefit to Mondi.'
