Directorate Appointment and Board Change

Hargreaves Services plc (AIM: HSP), the UK's leading supplier of solid fuels and bulk material logistics, is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Gillatt to the Board as a Non-executive Director.

Mr Gillatt (51), a Chartered Mining Engineer, has over 30 years of experience in the waste, recycling, mining and aggregate industries, including the role of Chief Operating Officer of SITA's £600m UK waste treatment and re-cycling business and senior roles at Tarmac, Lafarge and British Coal. Peter is Group Managing Director of the family owned Longcliffe Group Limited, the UK's largest producer of high purity calcium carbonates and is currently a director of a number of private companies in the waste treatment and re-cycling sector.

We are also pleased to announce the appointment of Nigel Barraclough to a senior executive role within the Group with effect from 3 October. Mr Barraclough (46) is currently a Non-executive Director of the Company and as a result of this important appointment will be stepping down from the Board of Directors at the end of September.

Commenting on the appointment of Peter Gillatt as a new non-executive director Chairman of Hargreaves, Tim Ross said:
