Issue of Equity

Wessex Exploration PLC ("Wessex" or the "Company") announces that application has been made for 2,978,648 new ordinary shares of 0.1p each ("the New Ordinary Shares") arising on the exercise of warrants to be admitted to AIM.

It is expected that admission will be granted and that dealings in the New Ordinary Shares will commence with effect from 7 June 2012.

In accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules (DTR 5.6.1R) the Company hereby notifies the market that immediately following admission of the New Ordinary Shares its issued share capital will consist of 724,343,472 Ordinary Shares. The Company does not hold any shares in treasury. Shareholders may use this figure as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules
