London:Β Wednesday,Β 8Β OctoberΒ 2008:Β Chi-Med announcesΒ thatΒ MrΒ Patrick Wan, who has been an Executive Director since April 2006, tendered hisΒ resignationΒ as anΒ Executive Director of Chi-MedΒ with effect fromΒ 8Β OctoberΒ 2008.Β Β Upon his resignation from Chi-Med, Mr Wan will continue with hisΒ otherΒ existingΒ responsibilities within the Hutchison WhampoaΒ ChinaΒ group.Β Β His role in Chi-MedΒ isΒ assumedΒ byΒ Mr Johnny Cheng,Β theΒ newΒ Chief Financial OfficerΒ of Chi-MedΒ appointed in July.
MrΒ SimonΒ To, Chairman said:Β "WeΒ would likeΒ to express our deepΒ appreciationΒ forΒ Mr Wan'sΒ contributionΒ to Chi-MedΒ since his appointment in 2006Β andΒ are pleased that he will continue to stay in touch through his ongoing work with the Hutchison Group."Β
