NewMedia SPARK PLC06 February 2006 NewMedia SPARK plc 6 February 2006 Update on Portfolio company Following recent press comment, the Board of NewMedia SPARK plc confirms thatmergermarket is in discussion with advisors regarding a strategic review withflotation, trade sale and refinancing being considered. The Board believes thatwere a disposal to occur it would be at a significant premium to the £13 millionbook value of its fully diluted 24% stake in mergermarket reported in itsinterim accounts as at 30 September 2005. Mergermarket is used by many of the world's leading financial institutions andits products include an independent Mergers and Acquisitions intelligence tooland a suite of products servicing the hedge fund sector.
