CONTINUES INTERNATIONAL MOBILE EXPANSION;
NEW ORDER WINS IN SE EUROPE AND AFRICA
Globo plc ("Globo" or "the Group"; LSE-AIM: GBO), the international IT, mobile solutions and S.a.a.S group, is delighted to announce the continuing development of its international mobile business with a new order for CitronGO! from a Mobile Network Operator ("MNO") in South East Europe and contract for a large SMS Campaign in Africa).
Globo has received an order, from a MNO in South East Europe, to provide the CitronGO! messaging and social networking service to be rolled out by the end of the first half of 2010. The service is based on the CitronGO! SaaS offering under which Globo will receive a fixed service fee per month per active user. The technical implementation is already in progress and is expected to be finalised by the end of May 2010.
Globo has also won a contract to provide a technology solution to enable one of the leading MNOs in Africa to conduct a large scale SMS Campaign over a period of 3 months. The campaign is expected to generate revenues of approximately €1 million for the Group within the first half of the Group's financial year.
These business wins follow the first contract for CitronGO!, announced in January 2010, with a major operator in South East Asia with more than 85 million subscribers. Since then Globo launched GO!Social, a social networking product for the youth market, at the GSMA in Barcelona in February as well as signing an MOU with a Latin American operator.
In support of its international expansion plans, the Group is recruiting internationally experienced professionals in the mobile sector, who are working with regional teams to develop relationships with MNOs in Latin America, North America, South East Europe, the Middle East, India, China and South East Asia. In addition, in March 2010 the Group established a regional office in Singapore to monitor and expand the Group's operations in the South East Asia region, focusing on the development of CitronGO! and other mobile services.
