New Chairman appointed

Fairpoint Group plc ("Fairpoint" or "the Group"), the leading provider of advice and solutions to financially stressed consumers, is pleased to announce the appointment of David Harrel as its new Chairman with effect from 14 November 2013. David replaces Matthew Peacock, who indicated his intention to step down as Chairman and from the Board in April 2013, following the sale of Hanover Investors' shares in the Group.

David, who is aged 65, is currently Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of Rathbone Brothers plc and Chairman of Savile Group plc, as well as being a non-executive director or consultant to a number of private companies. In 1982 David was a founding partner of SJ Berwin LLP and from 1992 senior partner, retiring in 2006. He remains a consultant to the firm.
