Board changes

Frontier IP, a specialist in commercialising intellectual property, announces the appointment of Professor Dame Julia King, Baroness Brown of Cambridge DBE FREng FRS, as an independent Non-Executive Director effective from 28 October 2021.

In addition the Company announces that Michael Bourne, currently an independent Non-Executive Director, has notified the Company that, having served on the Board for more than seven years, he has decided to step down from his non-executive role at Frontier IP. Michael will remain on the board until the Company's forthcoming annual general meeting to be held on 9 December 2021 where he will not seek re-election as a director.

Baroness Brown is an engineer with immense experience across industry and government. Following an academic career at Cambridge University, Julia held senior engineering and business roles at Rolls-Royce between 1994 and 2002, before returning to academia as Principal of Engineering at Imperial College and then as Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive of Aston University from 2006-2016. She is currently Chair of The Carbon Trust, a non-executive director of Ørsted, Chair of the Adaptation Committee of the Climate Change Committee, a member of the BEIS Hydrogen Advisory Council and a Non-Executive Director of AIM quoted Ceres Power Holdings plc.

Julia is passionate about education and engineering and contributed to the Browne report on university funding and to Lord Stern's review on the research excellence framework. She Chairs STEM Learning Limited and is the Chair of the Governing Board at the Henry Royce Institute for Advanced Materials.

Julia is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Royal Society and was awarded a DBE for services to higher education and technology. In 2015 she was elevated to the Peerage as the Baroness Brown of Cambridge and sits as a Crossbench Peer in the House of Lords where she is a member of the Science and Technology Select Committee.

Neil Crabb, Chief Executive Officer of Frontier IP Group Plc, commented: "I am delighted to welcome Julia to our Board of Directors. To attract someone of her standing and experience across academia, industry and in tackling climate change represents a strong endorsement of our approach and potential. Her backing will be invaluable as we push Frontier IP forward to the next phase of growth.

I would also very much like to thank Mike for all his counsel and support over the past seven years. He has played a vital part in helping us get to where we are today."

Professor Dame Julia King, Baroness Brown of Cambridge DBE FREng FRS, said: "I am delighted to be joining Frontier IP Group. I have always felt that commercialising research, especially university research, needed a very engaged, hands-on approach, so Frontier's model really appeals to me. Recent results show that it seems to be working."
