Transaction in own shares

EPE Special Opportunities plc (the "Company") announces that, on 24 June 2013, the following purchases were made:

The Company purchased a total of 348,168 shares of 5 pence each ("Ordinary Shares"). The Ordinary Shares were purchased by a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company. The repurchased Ordinary Shares may be held and resold as if they were Treasury Shares.

Giles Brand (the Managing Partner of EPIC Private Equity LLP which is the Investment Advisor to the Company) purchased 291,666 Ordinary Shares in the market and now holds 6,355,622 shares representing 22.55% of the issued Ordinary Share capital of the Company.

All of the above trades were made at a price of 60.0 pence per Ordinary Share.

The number of Ordinary Shares in issue following the purchases detailed above and the figure to be used as the denominator for calculations of interests in the Company's voting rights is 27,841,192 Ordinary Shares.
