Electrocomponents appoints new Non-Executive Director

Electrocomponents plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Louisa Burdett as a Non-Executive Director of the Company. Her appointment will become effective on 1 February 2017. She will also be a member of the Audit, Nomination and Remuneration Committees. After a period of transition, it is anticipated that Louisa will take over from Paul Hollingworth as Chair of the Audit Committee. Paul will have been on the Board for 9 years in May 2017.

Louisa is currently Chief Financial Officer at Victrex PLC, an innovative world leader in high performance polymer solutions, and has played an active role in the development and execution of their corporate strategy. Previously, she has held Chief Financial Officer roles in a number of listed companies and their divisions.

Peter Johnson commented: "We are all delighted that Louisa will be joining the Electrocomponents Board. Her breadth of financial and M&A experience will be extremely valuable to the Group."

There is no additional information to disclose in relation to LR 9.6.13.

Louisa Burdett - Career Summary

Louisa Burdett is currently Chief Financial Officer at Victrex PLC, an innovative world leader in high performance polymer solutions, playing an active role in the development and execution of their corporate strategy. Louisa started her career at GlaxoSmithKline, as a senior financial analyst, and has also held a number of Chief Financial Officer roles at Amersham PLC (which was eventually taken over by General Electric), at Brambles (an Australian listed pallet distribution company), the FT and Career & Professional divisions of Pearson PLC. More recently she has been Group Chief Financial Officer at Optos PLC (a small cap, medical technology company). Earlier in her career she gained considerable experience in M&A, debt management and dealing with investor relations.
