ELECTROCOMPONENTS PLC ('the Company')

Chairman Designate - Shareholding

Electrocomponents plc confirms today that in advance of his appointment to the Board on 1 October, Peter Johnson, Chairman designate, has today acquired 50,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company.

The shares were acquired at a price of 219.6p. 

This represents Peter Johnson's total holding of shares in the Company, which is less than 0.1% of the Company's issued share capital.

The Group announced on 30 July that Mr Johnson will join the Board as Chairman on 1 October.
