DDD LAUNCHES WORLD'S FIRST ONLINE HIGH DEFINITION 3D MOVIE WEBSITE

Yabazam.com offers wide range of full colour 3D content

Santa MonicaCalif. (November 20th, 2009) - DDD Group plc (AIM: DDD) today announces that it has launched Yabazam.com, the world's first online website dedicated to the digital delivery of high definition original 3D movies.

Yabazam! offers a wide range of content including the ever-popular 3D animation genre, extreme sports, documentaries and independent films. With 18 titles already available in a growing library, Yabazam delivers the broadest selection of full-color, professionally made 3D films available today.

DDD has licensed the digital distribution rights from a number of leading 3D film producers and distribution companies for properties including 'Garfield's Pet Force' from Paws Inc., 'The Curse of Skull Rock' from Sheffield-based Red Star Studio and 'Facing Champlain' from the National Film Board of Canada.

Under the terms of the distribution agreements, DDD hosts the movies on the Yabazam! website where customers of DDD's TriDef 3D Experience software can download free trailers and 3D stills from the movies before deciding to buy the digital download. Download prices range from $2.99 to $14.99 depending on the length of the movie. After deducting the distribution and payment processing fees, DDD shares the remaining profit with the content publisher, creating an attractive new income stream for producers of the latest 3D films and animations.

Yabazam! is also compatible with DDD's TriDef 3D software that is pre-loaded on the recently launched Acer Aspire® 5738 series 3D notebook PCs. The Acer 3D notebooks include a selection of movie trailers drawn from Yabazam! for customers to enjoy in addition to three animated 3D short films from producer Justin Knowles.

"DDD's TriDef 3D Experience software is one of the leading 3D media players in the growing market for 3D consumer products," said Chris Yewdall, CEO of DDD. "We expect that there will be in excess of 50,000 Acer 3D notebooks alone in the market before the end of 2009, each with an owner who is looking for more fun and enjoyable 3D content to watch. With home video DVD sales declining so dramatically this year, DDD has placed a great deal of emphasis on digital content delivery for 3D movies so consumers can get their 3D content when and where they want it. Yabazam! is a unique online venue where customers can come to experience the high definition 3D movies and represents a win-win proposition for consumers and 3D film makers alike."

About DDD

DDD, also known as Dynamic Digital Depth, is transforming the viewing experience with applications for 3-D displays. Its patented technologies enable 3-D viewing with and without glasses; simple integration of computer games applications with 3-D displays; supply of 3-D content through 2D to 3-D conversion; and 3-D transmission over existing networks. DDD's shares are quoted on the London Stock Exchange's AIM Market (AIM: DDD).

Background

*

A new category of flat screen LCD and plasma displays is being developed and marketed by major consumer electronics companies that provide stereoscopic 3D images both with and without the need for the viewer to wear glasses. Stereoscopic 3D images appear to have natural in and off-screen depth. 3D displays have already been included in mobile phones in Japan and Korea, in desktop PC displays and notebook computers in North America and Japan and in HDTVs in North America and Japan.

*

DDD's solutions provide an important bridge between conventional two-dimensional (2D) software applications and content and the new 3D displays. Normal 2D pictures, video and computer graphics images are manipulated by DDD's patented software enabling them to be displayed on 3D displays without requiring the content to be created specially for a 3D display. DDD's solutions also enable automatic conversion of virtually any media from 2D to 3D without any pre-processing of the 2D image.

*

DDD licenses these software applications, marketed under the TriDef® and DDD Mobile™ brand names, to consumer electronics manufacturers for inclusion with the 3D display products supplied to their end users. DDD also licenses its software directly to end users who already own 3D displays and through an international sales channel. DDD's customers include Sharp Corporation, Samsung, Wistron Corporation and Arisawa Manufacturing Company.

*

In October 2009, Acer launched the Aspire 5738 3D notebook PC that includes DDD's TriDef 3D software. The 3D software converts many popular PC games to 3D automatically, allows the play back of originally made 3D still and video content and the automatic conversion of normal 2D stills, video files and DVD movies to 3D.

*

In January 2009 DDD signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Wistron Corporation in relation to the licensing by DDD of its range of TriDef 3-D solutions to Wistron and an equity investment by Wistron in DDD. DDD and Wistron intend to enter into five-year licence agreements, whereby DDD will receive licence fees relating to the use of DDD's TriDef software and hardware technologies by Wistron in various markets.
